Massachusetts Clean Energy and Climate Plan for 2050
For the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), Dr. Murphy led the Brattle team that assisted the EEA in developing and producing the state’s Clean Energy and Climate Plan for 2050. The Plan addresses emissions from all sectors of the state’s economy – transportation, buildings, electricity, non-energy, and industrial emissions, and also includes emissions and sequestration on natural and working lands. Special focus was given to the Future of Fuels – how low-emitting hydrogen, biofuels, and synthetic fuels might replace fossil fuels in some high-value uses. The process of developing the Plan involved working closely with the EEA to evaluate and develop policies, coordinate the input and participation of the many state agencies affected, summarize and incorporate stakeholder feedback, and ultimately draft and produce the Plan.
