Peter Fox-Penner Discussed Findings and Data from Recent Brattle Report at Decarbonized Resilience Webinar
Brattle Academic Advisor Peter Fox-Penner spoke during an Enchanted Rock and Utility Dive webinar on “Decarbonized Resilience: How Do We Get There?” which took place on June 30 at 10:00 a.m. (PT)/1:00 p.m. (ET) and is now available online.
As a result of the severe weather season and the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, utilities and policymakers are seeking more environmentally friendly alternatives to a strategy of deploying traditional diesel generators for backup power and resilience. Panelists discussed the steps that need to be taken to protect critical infrastructure and communities from the next major grid outage. Dr. Fox-Penner also discussed findings from a recent Brattle report that he coauthored, “Decarbonized Resilience: Assessing Alternatives to Diesel Backup Power.”
