Pablo Ruiz to Participate in Energy Systems Integration Group Webinar

Brattle Senior Consultant Pablo Ruiz will participate in the Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) webinar, “Transmission Topology Optimization: A Software Solution for Improving Congestion Management,” taking place June 19 from 12:00-1:00 pm (ET).

Dr. Ruiz, along with Southwest Power Pool’s (SPP) Jay Caspary, will review an assessment of the effectiveness of topology optimization to mitigate congested constraints in SPP operations and planning applications under complex and extreme congestion conditions. The assessment found reconfigurations to relieve flow by over 25% on average across the congested constraints analyzed, many times fully mitigating congestion without needing a re-dispatch.
