Mr. Rudran is a competition economist with broad experience in antitrust enforcement, merger control, and competition policy.
A former Assistant Director of Economics at the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), he has served as a principal advisor to CMA senior decision-makers in mergers, market investigations, and CA 98 Chapter I and Chapter 2 infringement cases. He has worked on matters across a variety of industries, including financial markets, retail, telecoms, media, transport, energy, water, online platforms, pharmaceuticals, groceries and other consumer goods. Mr. Rudran has worked with stakeholders including UK governmental agencies, international organizations, and regulators such as the European Commission and, in the US, the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
Mr. Rudran is skilled in economic and financial analysis. He has applied this expertise in a wide range of antitrust enforcement cases, including excessive pricing, loyalty discount schemes, and horizontal and vertical agreements. Mr. Rudran has supported counsel and experts in litigation before the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT).
In addition to his decade of experience at CMA, Mr. Rudran – an ICAEW chartered accountant –gained experience as an Inquiry Manager of the House of Commons’ Foreign Affairs Committee and as Audit Principal at the National Audit Office.
