Mr. Vasselli is a competition economist with a decade of experience in antitrust matters. He has advised clients on a broad range of issues, including mergers, cartels, abuse of dominance, and damages assessments.
With particular expertise in litigation, Mr. Vasselli – acting on behalf of both claimants and defendants – has conducted detailed economic analyses to assess liability and quantify damages in standalone and follow-on proceedings, including numerous class action cases.
He has also been involved in numerous merger cases, supporting merging parties in addressing horizontal, vertical, and conglomerate concerns during regulatory reviews in various jurisdictions, including the US, EU, UK, and Australia. More recently, he has worked on post-M&A disputes, providing economic assessments of non-compete clauses in the context of international arbitrations.
Mr. Vasselli has applied economic and statistical techniques across a wide range of sectors, including automotive, chemicals, digital, electronics, energy, financial markets, pharmaceuticals, telecoms, and transport. As a consultant, he has supported experts at all stages of litigation and arbitration by developing economic models, analyzing large datasets, and contributing to expert reports.
