Dr. Hernandez specializes in economic and financial analyses related to the energy sector.

He has been involved in cases related to rate design disputes, cost-benefit analysis for oil and gas midstream assets, the valuation of oil and gas projects, and empirical analyses related to arbitration disputes. Dr. Hernandez’s empirical work relates to econometric models for auctions in the energy sector as well as policy issues involving fuel pricing, the role of national oil companies, and the regulatory framework in promoting investment in the oil and gas industry.

Dr. Hernandez has also been a lecturer of microeconomics and coordinated research activities in Venezuela centered around the energy sector. He has participated in multiple energy conferences and quoted in several media outlets, (including CNN and BBC).
