Dr. Pfander conducts economic and statistical analysis relating to competition, pricing, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on the transportation industry.

He has extensive experience modeling demand for transportation services – including railways, airlines, and shipping – in a wide array of contexts. Prior to joining Brattle, Dr. Pfander received his PhD from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where his dissertation focused on measuring and evaluating the consequences of market concentration in novel contexts.

Dr. Pfander’s academic research has been featured in the National Bureau of Economic Research working paper series.
