Ms. Pietrogrande is an expert in restructuring, insolvency, and special situations, specializing in complex international transactions.
With over two decades of extensive international experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency, Ms. Pietrogrande has proven expertise in navigating complex legal and financial landscapes. Her experience includes in-depth involvement in court proceedings and litigations, special situations investing and financing, non-performing loan (NPL) investing, securitization structures, asset-based lending, and complex cross-border distressed merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions.
Ms. Pietrogrande has worked with major financial institutions, large private investors, and corporations as a principal investor and as a legal advisor, offering a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Her involvement extends across both the retail and consumer sectors (such as apparel and accessories, electronics, furniture and housewares, jewelry, footwear, sporting goods, and toys) and the commercial and industrial sectors (including manufacturing, automotive, transportation, construction, marine, energy, mining, metals, food and beverage, and waste management).
She also has a wealth of experience in the acquisition, financing, and disposition of retail and industrial inventory, machinery and equipment, real estate, and intellectual property rights. Her international expertise spans multiple geographies in Europe, including Italy, the United Kingdom, France, DACH, Benelux, Nordics, and Iberia regions. Outside of Europe, she has worked in the US – including providing expert testimony in US litigations – and worked with companies in South America and Asia-Pacific.
Before joining Brattle, Ms. Pietrogrande served as a Managing Director at a global distressed investment, restructuring, and valuation firm, where she led a wide variety of transactions across the UK and Europe, driving the firm’s expansion into continental Europe. Prior to her career in investment, Ms. Pietrogrande practiced law for 15 years at major international law firms, including as the Head of Restructuring & Insolvency at the Italian office of a global law firm.
