Dr. Sabbioni is an economist with over 15 years of experience specializing in arbitration matters as well as antitrust and competition issues.
He has provided expert witness services in the context of international arbitration cases before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, and the Centro de Arbitraje y Mediación de Paraguay, as well as in mergers and market investigations before the Argentine Competition Commission (CNDC).
Dr. Sabbioni’s consulting services have included the estimation of damages caused by breach of contract in commercial disputes, breach of bilateral treaties in investor-state arbitrations, analyses of the economic effects of mergers and acquisitions on competition, and analyses of the economic effects of regulatory changes and anticompetitive conduct. His work has covered a variety of industries, including transportation and storage services, construction, pulp and paper, mining, telecommunications, oil and gas, ground handling services, petrochemicals, and others.
Previously a Partner with an economic consultancy in Buenos Aires, Dr. Sabbioni has also held several academic appointments. He was a Visiting Professor at the business school of Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires and, at Universidad Católica Argentina, served as Director of the economics department, the undergraduate economics degree program, and the Doctorate in Business Administration program. His teaching experience includes courses in game theory, microeconomics, industrial organization, and managerial economics, among others.
Dr. Sabbioni has published in the International Antitrust Bulletin, Utilities Policy, Economía e Instituciones, and in Argentine newspapers such as Clarin, Cronista, Perfil, and Infobae.

He held several academic appointments. He was a Visiting Professor at the business school of Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires and, at Universidad Católica Argentina, served as Director of the economics department, the undergraduate economics degree program, and the Doctorate in Business Administration program.
In 2019 he won an Open Public Competition for a Membership Position with the Board of Directors of the Natural Gas Regulator of Argentina (ENARGAS).
In 2002 he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship.
He is married to Carolina and has two kids: Francisca and Santiago.
