The Brattle Group is pleased to announce the promotions of Lucia Bazzucchi, Francesca Mazzarella, Akarsh Sheilendranath, Mike Tolleth, and John Tsoukalis to Senior Associate.

Lucia Bazzucchi specializes in infrastructure and cost of capital. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Università degli Studi di Ferrara, an M.A. in Quantitative Methods from Columbia University, and an M.Sc. in Economics and Social Sciences and B.A. in Economics and Management of Arts, Cultures and Communications from Università L. Bocconi.

Francesca Mazzarella has more than 10 years of experience in economic consulting, advising banks, equity funds, institutions, and companies that operate in the regulated markets and the network industries. She has advised clients in a variety of network industries including electricity, gas, water, airports, railway, toll way, and telecommunications. Ms. Mazzarella received an M.S. in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Akarsh Sheilendranath has experience in electric transmission planning, generation asset valuation, electricity market modeling, strategic planning, as well as regulatory finance and cost of capital cases for utility clients. He combines both engineering and business backgrounds, and brings extensive knowledge in large scale renewable resource integration and grid reliability planning. Mr. Sheilendranath holds an MBA in Finance from New York University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, and a B.E. in Instrumentation Engineering from Siddaganga Institute of Technology.

Mike Tolleth specializes in the financial analysis of energy markets, with particular emphasis on cost of capital and regulatory economics in the oil and natural gas industries. His experience includes cost of service, rate design, market-based rates analysis, and damages calculation for oil and natural gas pipelines. He received an MBA in Finance, Economics, Econometrics & Statistics from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a B.S. in Chemical Physics from the University of California, San Diego.

John Tsoukalis has experience helping utilities with strategic planning initiatives on a broad range of topics, including integrating and evaluating emerging technologies and utility services; transmission development; participation in regional wholesale power markets; and assessing the regulatory and market risks associated with certain strategy bidding behaviors. Mr. Tsoukalis holds an M.A. in Economics from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, an M.A. in Economic Analysis from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University.
