Alexis Maniatis Elected to ICCA-ASIL Task Force on Damages in International Arbitration

Brattle President Alexis Maniatis was recently elected to serve on the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and American Society of International Law’s (ASIL) Task Force on Damages.

The ICCA-ASIL Task Force, co-chaired by Catherine Amirfar, partner at Debevoise & Plimpton, and Gabrielle Nater-Bass, partner at Homburger, unites a panel of leading legal and economics experts from jurisdictions across the globe to think creatively about how to promote consistency and rigor in the field’s approach to damages.

Using an interdisciplinary model, the task force will analyze the legal and policy issues underpinning damages computations, and the various financial methodologies used in traditional damages analyses. Their overarching goal is the development of a damages tool of practical application for arbitrators and practitioners alike.

ICCA members are encouraged to submit questions that the task force should address, and to draw the panel’s attention to articles and papers that members have written on matters falling within the task force’s remit.
