Sanem Sergici to Present on Retail Pricing Reform at PLMA Conference

Brattle Principal Sanem Sergici will present during the 36th Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA) Conference, taking place November 13-15, 2017 in Cambridge, MA.

The event gathers practitioners and energy utilities active in demand response, load management, and distributed energy resources to educate each other and explore innovative approached to demand response programs, price and rate response, and technologies.

Dr. Sergici will present “Retail Pricing Reform: What’s the Hold Up and How Can We Move It Forward?” during the retail pricing roundtable. She will present a brief history of the tariff reform starting with the early time-of-use (TOU) pilots in the late 1970s, extending to pilots and programs with smart homes and transactive energy. In addition, she will discuss barriers to the tariff reform, and ways to address some of these barriers and moving ahead with the tariff reform.
