Brattle Principal Robert Mudge will present at Electric Utility Consultants, Inc. (EUCI) Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA) Litigation and Qualifying Facilities (QF) Symposium, taking place November 16-17, 2017 in Denver, CO.
The event is designed to provide instruction on PURPA and how it is being implemented across the U.S., as what happens in each state can impact utilities and independent power producers (IPPs) around the country. The event will also consider the future of QF contracts as renewable projects multiply and new standards are established that will have an effect of grid stability, resilience, reliability, and profitability.
Mr. Mudge will present during the session “The History of PURPA and the Evolving PURPA/QF Landscape,” which will provide information about the history of PURPA and an overview of the key features and changes to PURPA. Mr. Mudge will also present during the panel discussion “Day One Conference Recap,” which will allow conference attendees to ask specific questions about the previous sessions.
In addition, Mr. Mudge will participate in the panel discussion “Purpose of PURPA: Obsolete or More Relevant Than Ever?” Panelists will draw from their years of experience to weigh the opportunities and constraints associated with PURPA.
