Brattle Principal Philip Hanser will present at Law Seminars International’s (LSI) conference “Electric Transmission in the West,” taking place May 25-26, 2017 in Portland, OR and via webcast.
The two-day event will focus on the federal political and policy changes, changing interconnection market dynamics, and the structure and operations of the western power marketing administrations. In addition, the event will address cost and contracting issues, and key issues from the state regulatory perspective.
Mr. Hanser will present “Market Dynamics: Potential Transmission Impacts of Excess Solar Capacity in California.” In light of excess daytime solar capacity, Mr. Hanser will discuss whether it’s time to move away from traditional on and off pear rates, and what approaches to take if that occurs.
