Brattle Senior Associate Onur Aydin presented at the 2017 Western Systems Power Pool (WSPP) Fall Operating Committee Meeting that took place October 18-20, 2017 in San Diego, CA.
The WSPP was created to provide a catalyst for an efficient and robust wholesale electric power market that allows WSPP members to effectively manage their power deliverability and price risk, and create opportunity.
Mr. Aydin presented during the panel discussion “Carbon Market Update.” He and his co-panelists discussed the recent extension of California’s AB32 Carbon Cap and Trade Program that will have many impacts on the Western Power Markets. In addition, they reviewed the potential for new carbon programs in various regions of the U.S. that may add new and interesting opportunities for all market participants.
