Brattle Principal Bruce Tsuchida will present at the Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group’s (UVIG) 2017 Forecasting Workshop and Tutorial, “Applying Meteorology in Power System Planning and Operations,” taking place June 20-22, 2017 in Atlanta, GA.
The event brings together experts from around the world to explore the state-of-the-art in wind, solar, and distributed generation forecasting and meteorology application to electric power system planning and operations.
Mr. Tsuchida will present on “Application of Uncertainty Forecasts to Extreme Net Load Ramps” during the session “Applications and Value of Uncertainty Forecasts.” During this session, panelists were asked to pick a single specific challenge they are facing that is a result of uncertainty and describe how they are addressing it now with an uncertainty forecast. Mr. Tsuchida will explain what happens when you get it wrong, and how it could be done better.
