Brattle Principal Peter Fox-Penner recently participated in a Global Electricity and Technology Roundtable, hosted by The Brookings Institution’s Energy Security Initiative (ESI). The event was held on April 29, 2014 in Washington, D.C.
The Roundtable aims to gather a cross-section of stakeholders on a regular basis to discuss major issues, exchange perspectives, and explore solutions. The Roundtable is an important tool for supporting Brooking’s research that in turn informs policy makers, industry, and other stakeholders on major developments in the sector. The event included senior utility and technology industry executives, state and federal government officials, financial institutions, consulting entities, regulators, NGOs, among others.
Dr. Fox-Penner was invited to lead a discussion on the UK’s innovative new gas and electric regulatory model, RIIO, and the implications for the U.S. as a result of this innovation in grid regulation.
