Water

The Brattle Group has extensive experience in the regulation of water utilities and the impact of environmental regulation on the water industry.

Our work includes economic analyses and testimony in environmental disputes, interstate water disputes, regulatory matters involving water and wastewater utilities, as well as analyses related to the interaction of energy and water. Related to the energy water nexus, we have provided economic analyses on the use of water in connection with fracking, the reliance of water in energy generation, and the use of energy in water production and distribution. In regulatory matters, we have provided testimony on site certification, cost of capital, and the regulatory treatments of infrastructure costs for water and wastewater utilities.

In addition to our consulting work, our experts have appeared before the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate staff to discuss economic analyses of water issues. We are also frequent speakers and publishers on issues in the water industry.
