The Brattle Group values pipelines and distribution companies and conducts detailed studies comparing the financial performance of international pipeline companies. Our engagements draw upon our skills in finance and economics, our broad institutional knowledge of the natural gas industry, and our understanding of regulatory regimes around the world.
We valued a natural gas pipeline in a dispute involving a right-of-first-refusal (ROFR) clause to purchase the pipeline. In performing the valuation, we examined current market conditions and the business plans of the ROFR holder. We also evaluated multiple scenarios relating to new pipeline interconnections and LNG supply developments.
The Brattle Group estimated the value of converting oil-fired power plants to natural gas. We examined the effects on plant value of a wide range of market electricity price and fuel cost conditions and advised on natural gas supply and transportation arrangements.
The Brattle Group valued a number of natural gas distribution companies in Central Europe on behalf of a potential purchaser. This work included modeling a regulatory pricing system to predict future distribution tariffs.
