Dr. Butelmann is an expert in competition policy and regulation of natural monopolies.

Dr. Butelmann has taught courses on utilities regulation, competition, international trade, and labor economics in several Chilean universities, including the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez. She has also served in various prestigious posts, such as a judge for the Chilean Competition Tribunal and as Chief of the Utilities Regulation Division for the Chilean Ministry of the Economy. She also acts as a consultant to the World Bank on competition matters.
